WynnCraft Modpack is a complete overhaul and expansion for the Minecraft – Age of Conan. So why is it so special? What sets it apart from other similar mods out there? Why is it the one that started it all, in fact?
It started when Asher decided to completely overhaul and redo the whole vanilla content, removing everything that didn’t make sense or was outdated. He also added lots of his own ideas into the mix, such as overhauling the crafting system, how food works in Minecraft (now it’s a lot more efficient), how races work, balancing combat and professions, and just about anything else you can think of. There are now over 200 new items, many with their own unique properties, abilities, and skills, which are broken down into categories. For example, there are food items that are only available on certain planets, which are crafted by specific types of character, and which are only obtainable through certain methods. There are also special items that you can only get by breeding certain creatures, creating them from eggs which then hatch and create the item.
One thing that I love about this pack is how it plays into my story. The entire point of the pack is so that I can feel a part of the game in a totally new way, and not just like I’ve been playing it for a year. Sure, I’m still leveling up and doing all the same quests, but I feel like I’m really discovering something each time I finish a stage. This is because of the way that Asher has created each of the levels. Rather than being a run-of-the-mill level where you fight your way from start to finish, each level in WynnCraft is designed to give you a taste of something different.
For example, the Waterleaf Hut in the beginning of the pack is a mini-fountain, which will sprout water every five minutes. However, if you do not have any water, it will not grow. If you place some water on the fountain, however, it will start to grow, making it useful for a variety of quests. This way, Asher has made each level entirely unique, which makes the player feel like they’ve gone somewhere completely different!
Another great thing about Asher’s WynnCraft Modpack! is the way in which he designs the world. Rather than the normal two or three levels in each area, there are nine world maps in total. I love the fact that Asher has taken his love of Minecraft into a mod and turned it into something that’s completely his own. Rather than randomly creating a world in which you’re going to fight dragons, Asher has designed a world that includes lakes, rivers and forests, ensuring that each time you enter a map you will be completely immersed in it!
That’s not all, however – in the final corner of the pack you will find the “Shattered World” feature. Asher has spent a large amount of time working on this, and it’s one of the most interesting things in this Modpack! The idea behind the shattered world is simple – it’s there so that players can get an idea of how well the mod is, without having to actually see everything (I guess that would be too much). I also think that it adds a little bit of realism to the game, because even though the world is broken, Asher has ensured that the various features and items still function the same way. It’s a neat little addition that really makes the game look & sound its best!
