This is the Caelus API variant of Minecraft. The mod was designed by fans of the game but did not become official until 2021. The Caelus API is actually a combination of many different mods, many of which are actually optional to use with Caelus. However, there are some key differences between Caelus API and the official ones and that’s what this article will be looking at.
As you probably know, Caelus is an addon that enables a player to mine gravel, saplings and other items from enchanted books, stone and other blocks. When this is done, the player can then craft additional equipments that use these block types in order to help them get through more difficult challenges in the game. It also makes it so that the block they have crafted is stronger. This strength, however, doesn’t carry over to the block they are mining, but only to the person using the forge.
When the forge is started, a message appears that says, “You are trying to place the Caelus API enchantment. Press the [VR] to activate.” When a player mine ore with Caelus API, the game will tell them about the type of ore they have mined. For instance, if a player has mined cobblestone with the Caelus API patch, they will inform the player that the ore is shaped like “a cobble”.
This is where the similarities end! One major difference between the Caelus API patch and the official ones is that when you craft with iron, you actually use iron ingots rather than crafting iron bars. When you mine iron with the Caelus API patch, you get wood instead of the iron. When you mine gravel with the Caelus API patch, you get stone rather than theore ore.
Also, when you mine with Caelus API you are unable to pick up metal ores. Only iron can be picked up this way. There are a few other differences, but those are the main ones. For more information on the changes to crafting with Caelus API, check out the official forums.
The big issue with Caelus API is that it will prevent players from obtaining all kinds of resources that the forge needs to function. For instance, when you mine gravel with the forge patch, you will not be able to pick it up and use it to create 1.16.5 iron bars. You will be stuck with it, unless you trade the ingot for something else, which is impossible in the vanilla game. This might be a minor issue for some players, but if you are a serious miner, then you should definitely consider using the Caelus API forge patch instead. You will find it much easier to mine ores and block with the forge patch than you will with the older version of the game. However, if you want to be able to do all of this, then you need to install the Caelus API patch onto your server first, before doing anything else.
