Craft to Exile Dissonance Minecraft Mod is a completely overhauled and improved version of the old game that you can play in the hope of finding a high score. It’s free, modders are extremely active and constantly adding new content to the game, and the technical side-scraping has really improved the download speed and overall performance. This mod also has a host of other nice features, including custom biomes, monsters, crafting, enchantments and more.
Craft to Exile Dissonance takes place in a desolate land called the Dooned lands. You’ll soon discover that this is not simply another run of the mill survival game where your goal is to stay alive. In this game, you’re expected to do a bit of survival and also a bit of exploring to uncover the secrets of the world around you. The enemies are wily creatures that will easily trick you and make you lose your aim and focus, which can easily lead to an eventual death. Thankfully, there are tools that can help you during the game, such as the ‘health pack’, which restores your health very quickly.
However, don’t think that death is the only option in the game. There are still several other challenges ahead of you. You can fight the evil witch Grogle who resides in the underground portion of the land. She’s responsible for many of the misfortunes that befall the village and will try to ensnare you, as well as the surrounding area. If you fight her with good hearts, she might offer a chance at redemption.
For those of you who don’t like too much action, there is a ‘story mode’ where you will have to complete quests before moving on to the next. However, it’s not too much of a drag since the story is very short and easy to follow. However, if you want to do something more, then there is an optional ‘challenge’ mode which allows you to choose a difficulty level before starting the actual game! I’ve heard some people express annoyance with the fact that there aren’t any maps, but the reality is that most of the content is located inside the world map, so it’s pretty easy to find where you’re going. The crafting and item systems are simple to understand and work through, which is another big bonus.
The crafting system in this game is very simple, but I do recommend learning how to craft better items in the future so you can start making money off of them. This is just a suggestion though, since the mod actually has no inventory items, it’s entirely up to you to buy the materials and stock your workshop. I’ve found that the item stuff can be obtained relatively easily, especially when combined with other resources such as fish, wool, or rock. It’s really good if you have the time to mess around with the crafting mechanic, craft over again, and learn the best recipes for the rare items you are trying to gather.
This game is not quite as deep as I thought it would be, but it’s a well designed, enjoyable, challenging mod. If you enjoy the idea of a game that requires just a little bit of thought, thinking outside of the box, and experimenting then maybe you might want to check out Craft to Exile. It’s free, it’s easy to learn, it’s addictive, and has tons of unique recipes that are sure to keep you interested. I’m not saying it’s perfect, not by a long shot. But it has a lot of potential, and that’s all I’m saying.
