More than a game enhancer, Dark Utilities is a great PvE and PvP Mod for those who love a challenge. The mod brings a whole new perspective to the game, by changing a number of vanilla gameplay aspects such as food and drink, mining, enchanting and fishing. By adding these new utilities, players will be able to fully enjoy all of the content available in the game without having to repeatedly look for a tool or potion. Dark Utilities also has a number of tweaks to combat and block functionality, which should prove to be very beneficial to the player. Here we take a closer look at the mod and whether it is worth downloading.
Dark Utilities is an updated version of Survival Utilities. Unlike its predecessor, this mod has been completely revamped and improved. For example, mining improvements include new tools, as well as a new furnishing style that provide the mining enchantment with a variety of buffs. Other additions include improved block entity handling, as well as more efficient grinding methods. The Block power storage unit is another feature that should prove useful, but many people may find it a bit buggy, especially on lower end computers.
As with any other utility mod, Dark Utilities adds lots of custom recipes, which are tradable between players. This means that you can collect more resources, making your character more lucrative. The fact that all of the recipes are optional, however, does limit the number and type of tools you can have. There are, however, a number of very powerful utility tools, such as the ‘spikeshot’ utility that deals a lot more damage than other utility tools. This is particularly useful in groups, where multiple players can often cause one player to need to back up, due to their powerful range attack.
Overall, Dark Utilities is a very enjoyable download. With plenty of options and features, this mod really comes into its own once players start trying to figure out how to best make use of their dark energy. While the mod is not especially complex, the interface can be a little less appealing than some of the more complicated utility based games, and without learning a great deal of the game, players might find it difficult to figure out where to begin. Fortunately, with plenty of videos and a detailed walkthrough, this shouldn’t prove too difficult of an obstacle.
Despite the shortcoming of having custom recipes, this does still make Dark Utilities quite fun to play. Just about anyone who has played a vanilla Minecraft game will feel right at home with this one. It doesn’t have the same charm 1.16.5 as other similar mods, but it sure is a fun little mod. I especially like the little twists it puts on gameplay, such as having food drop down from above, or having blocks behave a certain way when dropped. It’s just a fun little variation that makes the game feel more alive.
If you’re looking for a good, creative mod, look no further than Dark Utilities. It has the same kind of flair as many of the other dark Utilities mods out there, but it also offers something a bit more. It’s not like most dark utilities mods that end up becoming boring and redundant after a while, because this one adds a little bit of something to the game that makes it enjoyable to play. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a good, creative mod.
