For those of you who have experienced modding Minecraft, I am sure you are aware of the wonderful feature known as FTB or “FTB Backup”. This is an extremely useful mod that can be used to backup your world in a very efficient way. If you haven’t figured it out yet, FTB is the mod for you if you want the most advanced modding experience with the least amount of work required on your part. You might ask what exactly makes this mod so special?
If you are familiar with modding the game before, you will know how time consuming it can be when you want to create 1.16.5 a backup of the world. You first have to go through all of the mobs, items, and other assets in your world. This can take hours if not days on some cases! When creating the backup, the first thing you will notice is that all of your tools and items will be placed in a chest. This chest can be found near your home and can be accessed with a right-clicking on it. Once inside, all of your tools and items will be placed in the chest and the mod will create a copy of your world in the specified location.
How does this help me? With FTB backups, you no longer have to mine, chop wood, or pick up iron ore in order to continue playing. With this mod, you can simply download and copy all of your data from your world and place them in a chest for safekeeping. You will never have to worry about losing your work again! All of the tools, recipes, and items in your world will be there, and they will be backed up and maintained with 100% effective technologies.
Now, here is the best part! Once you have downloaded yourFTB backup and placed it into your world, you can immediately begin playing without any hassle. Not only are these backups easy to install, but you can have several saved so that you always have an available backup in case your primary one begins to run low on space. So now you won’t have to wait until the next time you want to play to restore your game progress. Your FTB backup will keep your game up to date and available for play!
How do I get these wonderful little programs? Simply find them through the downloads section of the forge website and follow the instructions to install them. It should only take you a few minutes of your time to install the program and get to work copying all of your world’s files to your backup. And once the program is installed, it will start automatically, saving your backup as often as it can. As your worlds load up, your backup will be automatically replaced by the mod, meaning that you never have to worry about your backup becoming obsolete because you end up playing older versions of your favorite maps.
These types of backups aren’t just for older versions of forge, either! If you create a new mod and install it into the forge database, you can use your previous backups to play it in survival mode. When you save your world, simply copy your entire backed up folder over and begin playing. You can even copy just part of your world by right clicking on your world and going to “copy full backup.” With this nifty little mod, you’re never going to have to worry about losing any of your precious progress!
