Now that I’ve gotten the hang of this mod, I can’t stop raving about it. It’s like the mod has turned me into a Dragon Age player! The way I play the game now, I’m planning on doing some raiding with my current group very soon.
If you’ve played any of the previous Dragon Age games, you’ll be well aware of how boring and slow the game gets in the beginning. And I know I was that way, even though I had played other MMOs before. Well, I’ve been through Ice and Fire, and I can tell you it’s no comparison. In my opinion, Ice and Fire are one of the best MMORPGs ever, and Dragons forge on top of that.
One of the best parts of the game is the storyline and what makes it so great is that it ties in with the actual game very well. You start as a lowly commoner, looking to earn enough coin to hire a knight in your employ, and travel through the game trying to do just that. The game drags you through some really fun and interesting places, where you’re not sure how you’ll make it to the end. It’s like an RPG, but much more epic.
When you first enter the game, you have this magical quest item that you can use to get around. However, being such an important part of the game, you have to find it. In my experience, this is the biggest downside of this type of game, when it comes to leveling up. You have to go out there and search for them, which can get tedious after a while. So if you’re used to an easier, more linear game, then this might not be the mod for you.
Another thing I love about this type of game is its lore. I read somewhere that the game deals with magic, but don’t remember much of it. So it’s definitely not necessary for you to learn anything, other than what’s necessary to play the game. I also found that I got caught up in the story a bit and found myself taking in bits and pieces of it, which made the game richer as a result. There’s just something about a good book or movie…I’m talking about atmosphere.
Overall, I find this game incredibly exciting. It’s set in a dynamic world, where magic is real, and can be used to achieve any goal. The game offers lots of opportunities for players to be role-playing, crafting, and adventuring. It’s one of those rare games that manages to combine a solid story, excellent visuals, superb audio, and an awesomely intuitive interface.
