Isla Nublar is a mod which combines the popular Minecraft mod elements into an adventure mod. For those who have played the popular game” Minecraft” (often shortened to “Mind Control,” and more recently known as” Minecraft: Pocket Edition”), this kind of mod may sound like an exciting new direction. It’s certainly not the first mod in this style to be released (that I’m aware of), but it is a welcome addition, and many fans have expressed they would love to see this kind of game available for free on servers other than their own.
The premise behind Isla Nublar is quite a simple one. You are a young villager, named Michael, who lives in a beautiful Andes mountain home. One night, your sister disappears, and you are charged with protecting her – by finding her and bringing her back into the world, where she is believed to still live. Sounds easy enough, right?
Unfortunately, things aren’t so simple… and the mod provides a fair amount of challenges for those who dare to take on the mantle. For example, there are several creatures that will attack you on sight – including the occasional spider! If that isn’t enough to scare you away, there are also several “zones” scattered throughout the map, which are guarded by creatures called “ambush packs.” You must discover all of these zones and fight all manner of enemies, before reaching the end-game objectives and completing the game.
Isla Nublar looks gorgeous. The terrain is mostly lush green, with only a few patches of land dotted around in a couple of locations. The mod has been created by Forge Studio, and the graphics match those of the actual game quite well. When I first started playing, I was immediately impressed with the beautiful colors, and the lovely visual details – including the trees and rocks and the lovely little animals moving around.
But then – as is typical for these types of games – it gets repetitive. And after a while, even I began to get tired of it. But then, when I got bored, it wasn’t just boredom that made me quit – I had nothing else to play! But when I refreshed my page, I discovered a cool new feature: a quest system! I started doing quests, and soon, I had started to chat with other players about all the cool stuff that the game has to offer, such as flying and doing air-borne jumps!
However, I quickly learned that there is more to Isla Nublar than just questing. In fact, that’s pretty much all you’ll ever need to know! There are plenty of maps and dungeons to explore, and an impressive selection of weapons and armors to take on the enemy. If you love role-playing games and want to experience a truly memorable fantasy adventure, then Isla Nublar is a great choice.
