JourneyMapStages is a mod for the Minecraft game. This program allows you to map out your entire world with a custom interface. You can add and remove buildings, change the terrain, and see at a glance how much work will be involved. I’ve been using this for some time now and I love it.
The reason I like it so much is because you don’t have to use any kind of map viewer. All you have to do is right-click anywhere on the screen. You can see the coordinates in red (upper left corner of your screen). It also allows you to view distance, compass, time, and clouds. There is even a preview of the screen right-click your mouse to open it.
One of the best parts of it is that I can add as many structures as I want without having to go back into the Game Maker World. That’s great when I’m mining somewhere and need to know where I am going next. You can also go over terrain as I do – I don’t have to go into the Game Maker world anymore. I love it!
I have a friend that has hundreds of different stages in his game, but it still feels like he’s missing something. It also gives you so many more options than other similar programs. You can add clouds, trees, fences, and all kinds of other things. It’s very versatile.
My favorite part of it is the fact that I can go to a specific part of the map at any time. If I want to know more about a particular area, I can click on it. Now there is something that makes me really happy – if I need to get more help, I just point my mouse at the map and start typing.
I also love that it has the “Send and Receive” button. It makes sending and receiving requests so much easier. I can even add a timer on my buildings. Now I have no problem sending and receiving an order from my contractors.
One of the coolest features that you can utilize is the “Plan” function. This lets you plan your levels in advance. If you are having some trouble with it, you can go in and reset your layout. Now I can jump right into the middle of a really complicated level without any trouble.
The most important thing to think about is the “auto Save” feature. It’s fantastic for keeping track of where you saved your progress. Now it doesn’t matter what you do – you can go back and look at it anytime. It’s really convenient.
The only thing I would really like to see an improvement on is the graphics. Nothing is too bad, but sometimes I wish they were a bit better. It’s not a big deal though – the overall quality is awesome. The one draw back is that it can be a bit slow to load, but other than that, I highly recommend it.
