Nature’s Compass is a mod for Minecraft that allows the player to build their own base and defend it from zombies, monsters, and any other enemy or hazard. The mod basically serves as the player’s very own defense force, with a great deal of features that allow you to build anything you want. Some of these features include: crafting benches, furnaces, a variety of armors, and even flying machines. All of these, however, are just surface features of the mod itself. The core of the mod, and where the real action of the mod takes place, is in its ‘Weather’ option.
The mod actually adds in the ability to create 1.16.5 and modify real-world weather patterns into gameplay. When these weather changes occur, certain types of blocks and items will change in appearance, functionality, or otherwise. This is actually an incredibly fun feature for players who enjoy customizing the look and feel of their game experience. You can literally play around with the weather and see how it affects everything in the game, weather in your surroundings, and even how you can personally create weather on your own.
A great example of how the mod really adds life to your gameplay is its Weather Button, which is located at the bottom center of your screen. Whenever you want to change the weather, all you have to do is click on the button. Simple, right? Well, there is so much more to it than this…
To use the Weather Button, first find it by searching for ‘weather’. It will be beneath your map or next to your character’s name in the bottom right corner. Then double click the Weather Button to open up the panel. The Weather Options section will show up and contains several options for you to choose from. You can change the climate, change the precipitation type, set the day/night cycle, and a few other things.
From here you’ll need to go to the map icon on your game menu. Click on the small arrow on the lower right corner that says More. This will take you to a new page where you can view your current map or click on a new one to view a new map of the area you’re in. Using the map you can view all surrounding areas on a large map, and can also see what the weather conditions are like for that area.
Overall, this mod is extremely enjoyable. I love how the Compass Points system is integrated into the game, and how much information I am now able to access about the various aspects of the environment. The way that players are graded in the game based on their Compass Points also adds an interesting element to the game. But most of all, I enjoy the fact that my actions during game play directly affect the outcome of various events. I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I complete one of the challenges, and feel happy when I help my allies during battles.
