The Netherending Ores Mod is a simple modification that adds new ores and gravel to the game. There are two types of ores that can be added, naturally occurring ones like Lapis and Magma and chemically produced ones like Black Sandstone amethyst. Each type of ore will yield different amounts of metal when you dig it up. Some ores are also rarer than others, meaning you might not want to mine these too much if you’re not a very good player. This mod changes the way mining works so that mining is more balanced and doesn’t just destroy as much ores as it takes to produce them. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s certainly an improvement on the old version of the game.
There are several kinds of ores that you can find in the game, and they all have different uses. For example, Firestone is basically just kind of rock that doesn’t burn. Other ores have different features, such as Ruststone having the property to rust items in water, or Magma giving you the ability to replenish your food by using it as an oven. As you dig more ores down, you’ll notice that your wallet will become a little lighter.
There’s also another thing that I want to discuss with you today. This is the block breaking mechanic of the game. When I say ‘block,’ I mean actual blocks that you can break down. When you’re mining for the first time, you won’t be able to do that yet. You’ll need to get your hands on a pickax and you’ll need to have a plan for breaking down every single block you find.
There’s a couple of ways this will work. First of all, when you find a block that you can break, it will emit a beam that will break it down into smaller rocks. This means you can place your pickax over there and break it down. You’ll have to stack up on wood and other elements before the block is finished.
What makes this even better is that once you have all of these broken pieces around, they can be combined to make one big stone. You can then use this stone in any way you see fit. You can build a bridge, a house, a fence, or whatever you think needs to be done. Plus, because the stone is now small, you will probably not destroy as much space when you do your construction.
It’s just a simple thing, but one that I think is pretty cool. If you are interested in trying out the mod, you can download it from the official site right now. It’s a fun thing to do, and there is actually quite a bit of skill involved in getting things to level up quickly. I only played vanilla for a few months, so I wouldn’t know exactly how well it does or doesn’t work. But I will say this: it’s pretty neat, and I am already planning on sending some ore back to my parents.
