In my first ever Minecraft Mod, I decided to try out the “Nether” series. For those who don’t know, the “Nether” is where all of the action in the game takes place. And for someone like me, who doesn’t really understand what is happening in the game, it can be a little hard to figure out how to make a difference in the game with the many different types of mobs and items. Luckily, there are a few simple techniques that I learned that really did help out.
First of all, I added mob drops to my loot table. This greatly limited what I could get and the types of items that I could pick up at the same time. Now, it’s not true that you can only get “regular” mobs, but I was getting enough of the right ones to make the trip worthwhile. I also didn’t want to end up killing all kinds of animals – that would be too much of a hassle. It ended up working well, so I kept doing it.
When I got close to the end zone, I decided to do something I’ve never done before – fight some mobs. I used the “respawn” button, but I wasn’t very sure it worked. I hadn’t gotten any kills recently and I didn’t really know why I wasn’t seeing any damage on my screen. So I attacked some mobs that were close to me, and they took a while to die.
Once I was finished, I turned around and looked at my screen. Instead of a nice list of damage I was seeing, there was this big red “X” right next to my health bar! It was a pretty big shock, so I didn’t know what to do. Luckily I knew that I didn’t have to worry about this for very long.
After losing a couple of mobs, I was able to continue with my usual modpack routine, using just the “respawn” button. When I killed something, it killed itself (with no problems) – so I wasn’t even going to need to use the respawn button. That saved me a bunch of time.
Overall, the Nethered Ex version has been updated and added a lot of cool new features. The mod now makes it much easier to farm up rare mobs that drop valuable items like the Necrodera. Plus, the mod now makes it much easier to get rare pets. I haven’t found a single bug that hasn’t been fixed in the latest version. My only real recommendation is that you give it a try if you haven’t already, and I hope that you like what you see!
