The very first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of the video game Minecraft, is it’s modifying survival game play. But what the hell is a mod? Modifies game play! And how does one go about making them. I thought I’d give you a run down of the most common ones.
Before we get into that I want to show you why I say these things. A mod is anything that alters one aspect of the vanilla game (usually) such as changing game rules or creating new games. So basically anything that doesn’t fall under the definition of a video game is considered a mod. Which brings me up to my next point, these things are not made for the purpose of entertaining. Many of them will actually cause damage to your computers and may cause loss of data.
These power adapters are used to convert AC power to the necessary 5 volts for computers and gaming systems. This is something that happens quite often when people enjoy modding their game. So if you’re thinking, I make videos and edit pictures using my Sony PSP and now I’m going to connect my PS3 to the computer and run everything from the PSP through the computer. I can do this because all I had to do was purchase a power adaptor. If I did this, would I have been able to do this?
No. The power adaptor is only one part of the equation. The battery, an inverter or even a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) all have to be used in conjunction with the power adaptor. As I mentioned before, not all people who use mods understand this and end up buying more UPS than they need.
Now, when I talk about “modding” I’m talking about a variety of things. Things like changing textures, adding new weapons, characters, buildings, etc. I’m not talking about the type of modification that would be a little hard to do but something that could potentially make your game run better. I’m talking about changing whole sections of the code. It might sound complicated but if you get it right and know what you’re doing then it’s actually quite simple.
So back to the original question, are power adapters necessary for PSP gamers? The answer is no, but it’s probably more important to buy them one at a time rather than one by the group. A big advantage of using an adapter is that you never have to worry about dead batteries. So if you ever run out of juice in the middle of a game then you won’t have to worry about buying another one.
